Editorial Standards

Last updated: April 29, 2026

Kylovia exists to help curious readers think more clearly about technology, travel, business, management and health. To do that responsibly, every article we publish follows the standards on this page.

1. Our editorial mission

Useful first. Pretty second. We write for a smart, busy reader who wants the angle, the evidence and the next step — not a list of generic tips. If a paragraph isn't earning its place, we cut it.

2. Sourcing

  • Articles cite primary sources whenever possible: scientific papers, official documentation, public datasets, government reports.
  • Where we rely on a journalist's reporting, we link to the original outlet rather than paraphrasing without credit.
  • Quotes are verified against the original interview, transcript or article. We do not generate fictional quotes.
  • We disclose conflicts of interest within an article whenever they could affect its conclusions.

3. Accuracy and corrections

  • Articles are fact-checked before publication.
  • If a reader points out an error, we verify it and update the article. The article carries a visible "Updated on …" line and, when the original claim was substantively wrong, an italic correction at the top.
  • Time-sensitive information (tools, prices, regulations) is reviewed and refreshed at least once a year.

4. Editorial independence

  • Advertisers, affiliates and sponsors do not preview or approve articles.
  • The same advice we'd give a friend is the advice we publish, even when it costs us a referral fee.
  • Sponsored content is clearly labelled and kept rare.
  • We never accept payment to remove or quietly edit a published article.

5. Anonymous and pseudonymous sources

We use anonymous sources only when (a) the information is in the public interest and (b) the source would face genuine harm if named. We tell the reader why a source is unnamed.

6. Privacy of readers and subjects

  • We do not publish personally identifiable information about private individuals without consent.
  • Reader comments and contact submissions are confidential. We do not republish them as articles.
  • Photographs of identifiable people are used only with permission or under a permissive licence (e.g. Unsplash).

7. AI tools

See How We Use AI. In short: AI assists the writer, a human is accountable for what is published.

8. Conflicts of interest

If a writer or editor has a personal, financial or family relationship with a company, product or person being discussed, that relationship is disclosed in the article. Affiliate links to those products are not added.

9. How we handle reader feedback

  • Disagreements: we welcome them. Reasoned pushback often becomes its own follow-up article.
  • Corrections: handled within 48 hours of confirmation.
  • Take-down requests: reviewed by a human, with a clear written response.

10. Contact

Questions about these standards or a specific article: hello@kylovia.com. We reply to every legitimate message.
